I have obtained several pairs or 2000 ohm head sets. In mixing and matching diaphrams I notticed a huge difference. I then sanded the seating surface for the diaphrams, using a glass sheet backer, to bring the diaphrams closer to the magnents. Again a big step up in volume. Question is, What is the optimum distance between the seating surface and the magnent. Obviously the diaphram will flex a bit and close the gap slightly. If I lay a straight edge across the bakalite and observe the gap between it and the magnent it is about 0.015". Has anyone done any work to see what works best??
