Just a bit of follow-up to my May 25 posting expressing frustration with the Lyonodyne described in PopComm magazine.. First of all, thanks to the folks who offered suggestions. I appreciated the ideas. However, I still don't know what the problem was. I elected to rewire everything, and in doing so corrected what was probably my own error. The Lyonodyne works now, and fairly well. Here in the suburbs of Minneapolis/St.Paul, I get one nearby local very strongly. By fiddling with the tuning and the switches that change tuning, antenna and detector taps, I can also receive three other locals, all with lower signal strength, but all with little or no interference from the strong signal. It's surprisingly selctive. Given my 'phone compromise (a crystal "plug" from a RS kit) and my antenna compromise, (70'long, 30' high) I'm satified with the performance.
