I have had that idea gnawing at me for some time. My idea is to use Monokote. It is a mylar product for covering model airplanes. It has a head activated glue and shrinks when heated. You use an iron to stick it and a blow dryer to shrink it. I bet it would make a super tight and light diaphram. I think mylar packing tape would do the same thing??
