I think I would be leary of a magnetizer that claims to work through the case. Since you need such strong magnetism through the old magnet, that usually takes direct contact between the magnetizing magnet and the proper wanted pole locations, no air gap. Direct contact with the tops of the coil pole pieces works a little, but has never worked well for me, the magnetic path to the permanent magnet must just be too long. A mechanical shock will help the new magnet approach saturation. Striking it a half dozen places with a knife handle or something helps. This appears to require disassembly.
Doing this through the case sounds too good to be true. If you try it I would sure be interested to hear your results. _J_
