I would just use insulated wire for the downlead. Attach it to the center of your antenna and run it to your radio. Don't bother with coax, and don't split the antenna in the middle. (no dipole) Make sure that you run the wire in such a way that the water will run down the lead in and drip off (drip loop)and not run into the house. Let us know how the antenna and radio work. Let us know what kind of DX you get. --Larry
