I sent the following letter to Rebecca and she suggested I post a message here. This is the letter I wrote. Back in about 1960 I remember having a magazine that was either Mechanics Illistrated or Electronics Illistrated that had an article about a candle powered radio. I was only about 8 or 9 at the time and really didn't understand how the thing worked. I remember the purpose of the thing was so that people in countries that didn't have access to a battery store could power their radios. I never heard of a candle powered radio again. I remember it used a bunch of wire made into a sort of star pattern somewhat like a fancy lace work you would put under a lamp. The candle burned in the center and created a voltage. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Do you know of anyone that has a kit for this and how good they worked? Thank you.
