Hi Steve, Dish antennas sure do work and greatly ehnance weak reception, even with crystal sets. The only snag is that a dish needs to be many wavelengths across. For broadcast band, that'd be, well lets see, about 60 miles. For FM, be only the size of a house, but then there is no FM DX to speak of. Bottom line: the waves short enough for dishes to be practical don't bounce of the ionisphere well enough, so no skip, no DX. Thats why there's been no rush on dishes for crystal sets. Shoot. _J_
