I was trying to simplify, rather than Obfuscate--Most of the Gain/selectivity in the "table radio" is gained by the fact that it has an I.F. strip.. Disregarding this, as in the case of a TRF or Xtal set, the TUNED CIRCUITS are in essence the same....as are all "radios" the "magic" is in the modern I.F.strip, where all circuits only have to amplify a single Frequency...BTW- NOTHING is more sensitive than a Regen detector.....'73 Jim, K1EXE
