Just built a 2-tube set from a 1953 Cub Scout Lion Handbook. I'm listening to KIXI 880 kHz with good volume as I type. Get 6 stations without an antenna tuner. Low distortion which I can't figure as the set has no cathode bias resistors. Sharp tuning without traps (due to tubes' high input Z). Glow bugs do have a certain charm. Oops! Just heard some other station fade in and out. Guess I should check for DX. Hate to leave KIXI. They're playing some lovely easy listening and movie themes. Much better than the cranks I have to listen to while waiting for a DX station to ID.
