Thanks for the tip. As I'd like to share my experience with youth leaders, I'll check out your inexpensive approach first. Usually, my projects get periodic modifications rather than totally torn apart. I go to second-hand stores and swap meets looking for other peoples' projects. Those projects get torn apart for components. Hi :)

The reason the coil in paralell spread the stations out is that coils in paralel act like resistors in paralell. (1/Lt = 1/ (1/L1 + 1/L2) ) .Resonant frequency is proportional to the square root of the product of the inductance and the capacitance. Another way you may spread the band is to partially slide the ferite rod out of the origional coil.
