It was a rockhead's dream; a 1200 foot metal tower in the middle of the boonies, used occasionally by the Navy for war games. Only problem is, the tower, guys and even the fence arount the base building are grounded 7 ways from Sunday. Tried attaching xtal set to tower and to too short wire for antenna - nothing except Radio Habana bleeding in from the hf region. Any ideas on how I can use this hunk of metal to an advantage without (a) climbing it or (b) making a huge gamma match to it? Maybe a modest antenna into the adjacent woods?
