I'm gathering parts to build ( http://antiqueradio.org/econbuild.htm ) ( http://antiqueradio.org/econpart.htm ) the econoceanic shortwave crystal radio but am stuck with the variable capacitor from AES (CV300-145, $3.50). They don't list it anymore. They recommend their other variable capacitor (CV300-140 $19.95) at more money, so what else is new. I'll fork out the bucks if I know it will work. Tried e-mailing antiqueradio.org but no response. Also, can anybody cross reference a 6-40pf trimming capacitor to AES or elsewhere so I don't have to order extra stuff from All Electronics to get this one part? I'm no electronics hound, just tell me what parts I need and I'm OK. But if I have to substitute, I'm lost. Really appreciate all the crystal radio projects on the net, but parts lists outdate a week after they are published, especially Radio Shack!

Can anybody help?

Thanks, Greg

Great article with a nice tutorial - will have to study this one for awhile. Printed it off before the copyright police grab you.
