I read in a book today about the other kind of radio crystals (called "tuning crystals")? You know. The little rectangular things with 2 pins on the bottom.
"Some act like a series LC circuit and some act like a parallel LC circuit".
Really? This sound too good to be true! Does that mean you could make a 2-piece single freq xtal set using only one of these and a diode? How about a 1-piece single freq wave trap? There must be a catch. Maybe they don't resonate at the microvolt levels present in a free-power radio. Maybe they aren't available in the .5-1.7Mhz range.
Enquiring minds want to know.
