Here in Y.V. CA. there are no local signals at night. The closest signals are 100 miles away. At sunset or + or - 2 Hr signals may come in the strongest. The bc band can be packed with sky wave signals. But it is just the opposite in a populated area such as LB or LA CA. where you are not likely to hear anything but the strongest night time sky wave, 500miles max, except I did hear KOA denver in LB CA. an hour before sunset.
