Bill, That 50 kW station should come through loud and clear, expecially with the outside long wire. I will assume you are positive you wired the radio per the instructions.
If you have a meter and can check the diode, you should. Also check to make sure your earphones are working. If both check out, try this if you have and outside antenna and a good ground. Hook the antenna to the Anode of the diode, and ground to the cathode. Put the earphones accross the diode. You should hear that 50 kW station. If you can't (and you are sure your antenna and ground connection is good) then try a different diode. If nothing still, try another set of phones. Let us know what you find out. -Larry
